When did you book your newborn photographer?
How far in advance? Also, how did you know when to book? I want to get the pics as early as possibel (ie: when DS is one week) but I obviously don't know when that will be! TIA!

Ha. We meet again on here. I booked mine like 6 months in advance. Katie Burnett. She was awesome! Plus she came to the house for no additional charge and kept my 5 day old daughter completely calm and cuddly.

Re: When did you book your newborn photographer?
Thanks! I'm just over 15 weeks so it feels really early but I don't want to wait so long that I can't get someone.

Re: When did you book your newborn photographer?
I literally called and left a message this morning to find out the best way to leave a deposit at just over 13 weeks. I'm sure there's no need to rush into it now but I figured since I know who I want to use why bother waiting?

Re: When did you book your newborn photographer?
I reached out to mine sometime in the first trimester, but didn't seal the deal (send in deposit check) until early 2nd trimester. With my first DD, I booked at 6 weeks, but that was because that photographer typically books that far in advance.
ETA: Most photographers take down your due date and figure it'll be sometime around that time. You just let them know when you've had the baby and they tell you when to come in. Most like to do it within the first 7-10 days, when they're still super sleepy. I think DD was 8 days at her shoot.

When did you book your newborn photographer?
You tell them when you're due and they put you in their calendar around that time. When you actually have the baby you call and let them know and then they put you down for an official date / time which is usually within the next week or so. I booked after my NT scan. They book newborn shoots faster because they typically take longer (can go up to 3 hours) so the time to do them is more limited.
ETA: DS#1 was 6 days old when we did his.
