When did you bring your newborn out?

DH and I wanted to go to the store... wondering if we can bring her out yet around people or if we should wait... she's 1 week and 5 days old... TIA!

3 weeks to our parents houses, 5 weeks until we took him in public.

Good question!!! We are having him in mid June and I can't see sitting in the house until mid - August - I think we will all go alittle crazy!!!

DD was at the store at 4 days old. We never made ourselves stay home just because she was a newborn, they basically stay bundled up in the infant carrier anyway.

For my own sanity and the fact that DS just loved being in the car, in his carriage and out (it was the only time he didn't cry in those days ) we took him out fairly early

DS was at his grandparents within a few days of coming home..

We took walks outside that first week home also

I think my first mall trip was at 2 wks old..

We went for walks when the weather was nice. Stores at 8 weeks.

1 week old we went food shopping, target by 2-3 weeks old we were at the mall.

She's was around a ton of family since birth too. There's no way i could stay in.

DS was 6 days when we took him to the mall.

We started going out at around 2 weeks, at 5 weeks we were doing a baby massage class.

eta Mine was a January baby! I was DYING in the house!!!

We didnt' take our DD to stores till she was 8 weeks. She was born in the winter and that was the Dr's orders.

Outdoor restaurants and for walks at about 4 weeks, but I was told by doc not to take him in public until 8 wks cause if they get a fever they will need a spinal tap. He wentout in public for the first time at 7weeks 2 days to a family Communion, 7 wks 5 days he got a fever, 7 wks 6 days he had a spinal They weren't kidding

2 weeks! We brought him everywhere!

We didn't venture out the first two weeks but after that I started to take her on walks in the neighborhood and on the boardwalk too once, we went to our first store (target) at three weeks and have been going to stores ever since. We went to the mall a few days ago and to Cosco. My Ped. said I can take her out as long as no one really handles her and he also said walks we totally ok. right from the day I came home from hospital.

We went XMAS shopping relatively soon after she was born - sometime after her 1st week I think.

We kept her in the infant seat in the stroller and just made sure nobody touched her or stuck their face too close. When we were in elevators with other people I put the canopy up and covered her.

my dr said asap but just use commonsene about peopel touching her and holding her. she was out at 9 days shopping and two weeks to her first party

Day 4 she was in a store

Only to the doctor, right away . We waited 2 months to take her to public places. If people wanted to see her, they came to us.

4-5 days, right when we got out of the hospital, that night we went to the pasta house.

With DD we went for a walk the first week...then it got chilly, i think around 4 weeks we brought her to a friends house, but when a lot of people showed up, we left.
this time im due in Aug. i hope to be outside a lot, stores and malls im a bit germaphobic about. But we'll see.

2 weeks and we had her out, we just keep her away from too many people
