When did you know whether your DC was right or left handed?

When did you know whether your DC was right or left handed?
My DS always uses his left hand to eat. But, he seems to use both hands equally for most everything else. He is one years old - is it too early to tell? Did anyone else's child show a clear preference and if so, when?

My DS was displaying significant left handed tendencies - coloring, eating, etc and then one day he just started coloring with his right hand. He sorta does both now so I don't know what to think.
I have heard that is does not become definite until the age of 3 or 4 or so...
My DH is left-handed, I am right handed...

At 1 it is still too early to tell. By the time they are 3 you will know for sure.

he is really young yet, some kids don't establish dominance till even 5 or 6, as he gets older (like 2-3 yrs) if you see your DC using one hand more then the other, its fine to encourage that hand use
