I 'think' I remember the Dr. saying to do tummy time starting at 4 weeks old.

We started immediately as per our Pediatrician. It went from 30 seconds or so to several minutes at a time over the first few weeks.
When we started we spread a very soft plush blanket on our dining room table and placed her on there. We stayed at her eye level and had some small toys that we would make dance around in front of her. Very very quickly she was lifting her head and pushing up. After a few weeks we moved down to the floor.

I probably didn't start tummy time until about 2 months. She was always lying on us on her tummy and they say that that is also considered tummy time but who knows. She was barely awake before that to get it in anyway.

We started day 1 with both girls!
Here was my second DD at 1 week old:
I think it really helped because she could sit up at 2 months old (my first DD could sit tripod style at 2 months old), here she is at 2 months old:

My dr said as soon as teh umblical cord falls off, so I did that.

I think I really started making an effort around 8 weeks, before then he really wasn't too thrilled about it so I didn't push it. Now at 3 1/2 months he does really well with it!!

We started right away, as per our ped. Only a few seconds a few times a day and gradually increased it.
