Re: when did you stop sterilizing bottles/pacifiers?
We use Dr. Brown's bottles - I handwash the actual bottles in very hot soapy water and sterilize all of the parts in the bottle sterilizer. I run the sterilizer while I'm making up the formula for the next days bottles. I've got it down to a pretty good system.
eta - DS is 2 months old - I don't know when I'll stop doing this...

Re: when did you stop sterilizing bottles/pacifiers?
Until she was off bottles...so never really.
She went off bottles at about 21 months and I would wash then steriize her bottles.
It was just a habit I got into.

Only the first time.
I always handwash.. too many horror stories about unseen mold in dishwashers.

Re: when did you stop sterilizing bottles/pacifiers?
I only sterlized them new. My ped told me it isn't worthwhile.

i do it every time.... we don't have a dishwasher and i know that the water i use is hot - but not hot ENOUGH... i just use the munchkin sterilizer bags...it takes an additional 90 seconds. not a big deal to me!
yup I still sterilize every time for this same reason. DD is 3.5 months

Re: when did you stop sterilizing bottles/pacifiers?
I only sterilize anything new. I sterilized after each use for about a week when DD was first born but then the ped said not to bother. Now I handwash everything in very hot soapy water.

Re: when did you stop sterilizing bottles/pacifiers?
I sterilized the bottles mostly every day until my DC stopped using bottles. My DD uses a pacifier and she is a little over 12 months. I usually try to sterilize her pacifiers once or twice a week.

Re: when did you stop sterilizing bottles/pacifiers?
We only sterilized the first time we opened the package. After that, I just wash everything in hot water and soap. No problems!

The second you take the bottles out of the sterilizer bag and it hits the air it's no longer sterile. Do you keep them in the bag until you use them? I had the Born Free Sterilizer and they were sterile as long as they were in the hot sterilizer but as soon as I removed the bottles to put them away technically they were no longer "sterile". That's why it seemed like a waste to me to even bother. Another reason I love the Drop Ins though...........a clean, new liner every time.
i know that...but before - emma had a white tongue (not thrush) - but just a formula white tongue. once i started doing the sterilizing - it went away and she hasn't had it since!
once i take them out of the bag - i put the bottles together and get the water in them (or at least seal them off).
Gotcha!

Re: when did you stop sterilizing bottles/pacifiers?
I sterilize them after every feeding. Doctor recommended it. I boil hot water and throw them in, I dont like the idea of putting them in the dishwasher. Just me..I guess alone it is fine, but not w/ dirty dishes.

Re: when did you stop sterilizing bottles/pacifiers?
I still do and DD is almost 11 months old. I went crazy the other day and sterilized every bottle, nipple, paci, sippy cup, spoon etc. She has been sick for a while, so I thought I need to do a very thorough job. I did it the old fashioned way with a big pot of boiling water and soap. Then I washed everything by hand!
