When did you try again after MC?

I recently suffered a MC at 8 weeks. Last week I was a total mess, well actually up until this morning I was but I am now back at work and even though I am still devastated I will not allow this loss to consume me. There's a reason this occurred and I want a baby and will get my baby! (Trying to stay positive!!!)

So for those that MC how long did you wait till you tried again. I know everyone is different but I feel I want to get right back to it and I'm looking for a success rate after MC. Side note, I conceived via IUI, first try (too good to be true I guess!)
Feel free to add a comment too.

ETA: I had a D&C. Dr. suggested 1 cycle. I am just wondering if it's better to wait or a MC doesn't always mean I'll have another. I never bled. There was just no more heartbeat.

I'm sorry for your loss. I've been where you are now and it just basically sucks! I had a miss-miscarriage at 10 weeks, baby stopped growing at 8 weeks. I did Ivf so I knew I would need to do that again, I miscarried in sept and started my next cycle in December. It ended up a cancelled cycle because I was sick but did go on to my next cycle in February (transferred in March bc I was on bc pills) which was successful. I had a d&c which is why I waited until dec just to have two cycles in between? My dr recommended 1 cycle at the time.

I'm a nurse and we usually tell patients to wait at least 2 cycles then try. Since you're using an RE I would definitely inquire about your progesterone last cycle to see if that may have been a factor.

I am so very sorry for you loss. I had to wait a while only because it took 3 months after the mc for AF to come back and then it was just all over the place.

One miscarriage doesn't always mean you will have another one, some times it's just really bad luck. I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy, I did a d&c and we found out it was caused by turners syndrome. I was afraid to try again but I did go on to have a successful pregnancy and my dd is now 3. I tried for my second, got pregnant from my first fresh cycle and am now 18 weeks along. Everything you are feeling is normal, being afraid to try, and afraid to have another miscarriage is all normal feelings. For me, I needed to keep going and that made me feel better. Don't get me wrong, there are those who have recurring miscarriages but it's not always the case either. To add, I never bled either, I had no idea for 3 weeks until I went for a 10 week sono. Good luck! Feel free to pm me if you ever need to talk.

That's a wonderful outcome and what I needed to hear is possible. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you to everyone. I was so great full to be pregnant and from just one IUI it was a blessing (especially since we have zero infertility coverage). This was a complete slap in the face but I know there's got to be a good reason for it. I love hearing about successful pregnancies after MC. It's very encouraging.

Im so sorry that you even need to be asking about this. :(

I had a similar situation with a MMC, and went on to conceive our DS about five months later. I started trying right away (well, one month) after my D&C. It gave me something to focus on and hope for, which I desperately needed.
