When did your DC start taking a bath in the regular bath tub?
DD has been in an inflatable tub inside the big tub for months now....well it has a hole and I'm too lazy to go buy a new one. I'm just scared she's going to hurt herself in the big tub (she's 17 months). Am I being silly? Do you use any thing protective?

13 months old. They were in the kitchen sink (oversized) until then.
Never had anything protective. DH and I bathe them together.

Before they were 1. I don't remember exactly. I put down one of those rubber mats so the bottom isn't so slippery and they sit on that. I don't have anything else protective in there.

never anything in the tub, just his bum...and one of those inflatable covers for water faucet.

i think she was about 9 mths....17 mths is fine!! go ahead...she will love it!

I just starting putting him in the tub with me and he is small 7 month old. If you are willing to get in there is no need for anything protective. We will probably get something anyway because I am not going to do it this way every day!

Caden went from the babytub to the bath ring in the big tub at 5 months..then just this weekend Daddy gave him his first big boy bath with no bath ring..he's 8 1/2 months....It was the same for all my kids once they sat up well I'd get rid of the bathring and just put them in the tub.

She went into the tub in the bath-seat at about 7 months. At 9 months, I stopped using the tub-seat, because she was going to my mom's for a few days and I didn't want to bring any extra stuff. No problem...so I never put it back in. I just use a rubber mat with suction cups on the bottom of the tub for her to sit on.

Well DH did it (since I'm too preggo to bend and stuff) and she did great. I was afraid she'd try to stand and slip (we don't bathe with her.)
She sat and played just as if she was in the inflatable tub.
OK gotta start dinner - chat later ladies!!! Thanks for giving me the confidence to try
