When do the STAR rebate checks go out?
I thought it was October. Do we get a rebate this year?

You're right. I just called the assessors office & they told me the rebate was done away with. 
Great, another kick in the azz to nassau county residents. Remind me again why do I live here.

Im confused... Are we talking about the tax rebate that takes like 1k off your property taxes? Or is this that other rebate thats much less?

STAR rebate is available for property assessment decreases. However, the state no longer provides STAR check rebates via mail in addition to the assessment decrease. Patterson did away with it last year.

I thought they did away with the middle class Star Rebate, not the regular star rebate.

The STAR rebate that is deducted from your taxes is still in effect, the additional rebate check is gone - not happening this year.

Used to be you got the rebate off your tax bills AND got an additional check mailed to you. No more additional check - it wasn't in the NYS budget any more
