When do you turn your heat on?
It's 60 degrees in our house right now and freezing. DH wants to turn it on, I say it's too early and we should wait until later in the month.
When do you turn yours on?

I'm in CT and it's about 10 degrees colder than LI here. But even though I am shivering right now I want to hold off as well.

DH turned it on earlier - regular heat and radiant -and it way too hot IMO. I turned them both off. I love it colder though.

We turn it on when we're cold. No specific date or month...just when it's cold.
We both, especially me, like the cold, so....we're not turning it on for a while.

I would like to hold off a little longer. Hopefully until Nov 1st. Besides I have to learn how to set the new thermostat DH installed last week.

Last night we had the ceiling fan on in the bedroom....It is ok in the house today, not too cold and too early for the heat.

I don't think there is a specific date you should turn it on. If you are cold, then you turn it on.
Personally, I would rather spend my money to be warm than on something else. We do budget and only pay $138/month all year round so to me that is not alot.

WE just turned it on when we came home earlier this evening because it was so cold in here. We'll probably turn it off before bed, because we all sleep well in cooler temps.

we set the heat for 65. If the windows are open the heat gets shut off, but if they are closed the heater stays set at 65 unless it gets to cold. We have the dog and kitten so I try not to keep it to cold for them....I guess they are a bit spoiled

If the temp gets too low, we'll turn it on. So far we've been okay...but we have no set date.
