When is it time for a haircut?

SO we all know that my precious dd was a baldy bean for a while. I was thinking of getting her a trim before her 2nd birthday pics (which I am taking the 2nd week in March)

How did you know it was time for a haircut, I mean her hair is still kinda short but a bit out of control

here is a pic from X-mas, it is a BIT longer now

so tell me, is she anywhere CLOSE to needing a trim or should I wait and let her be a wild woman for a frw more months

Re: When is it time for a haircut?

My DS is 6 months. He has very long hair on top of his head, and short hair all around as most of his hair fell out after birth, except the strands on top. We do a comb over now, but i think this sun my aunt is coming up from SI who is a hair dresser, so we are going to trim the top part a little Chat Icon

Christopher's is similar to Miki's, but he has a BAAADD come over and a mulletChat Icon

We cut it ourselves about a month ago, and it still looks pretty good. You could get it cleaned up a lbit.

DD's is the same length and I am not cutting it yet. I don't think I am ever gonna cut it since it is taking so long for it to come in Chat Icon

I have to say I have been tempted to buzz her hair Chat Icon because I know if I do it a few times it is going to grow in a lot thicker and faster. I see it with my DS. I buzz his hair and he gets it cut every 5 weeks. I just don't have the heart to cut those curls that are starting to come in on the back.

It's true!!

We cut DD's hair in November, the week before Thanksgiving. Well we took her AGAIN to have it cut today. Her bangs were in her eyes.

My SIL is her hairdresser and told me that it would grow like a weed once we cut it the first time.

My DS was a baldy for the longest time. I think his first haircut was at 20 months. If he was a girl I probably would have left it, but on a boy it was looking too mullet-like! I would probably leave it if I were you unless you can clean it up a bit without loosing any of the length.

DD is almost 3.5 & her hair is now about down to her butt Chat Icon I'm probably going to take her for her first haircut next week. I'm sure it's way overdue but the thought of cutting into those pretty baby curls breaks my heart Chat Icon

Re: When is it time for a haircut?

DD is 2 1/2 and has a mullet. Her bangs are finally growing in a little bit. We'd like to get it cleaned up a big to even it out. It's much longer than your DD's in the back now, but I know what you mean about hair envy! Our DD was bald until 2!

She is sooooooooo adorable!! I think the more you trim it -the faster it will grow!! It is always nice to do a clean up and get her used to going to the salon!!Chat Icon

Re: When is it time for a haircut?

LOL don't ask me b/c DS is 17 mos with a head full of curls that I still haven't cut and it is MUCH more than in the pic you posted. I trim the front myself when it gets to the point that it is in his eyes but otherwise i am holding off - i just can't do it yet Chat Icon Chat Icon The worst is with winter the hat flattens out his hair so straight it is SO long!
