When is the best time to do 3D sonos?

I'm 26 weeks and being monitored weekly by a high risk dr. in case I need to deliver early due to some issues with one of my twins.
What is the earliest you would get a 3D sono where you feel you can still really get a good look at the babies?
Would you say 30 weeks at the earliest? Or is that still too soon?

Around 30-34 weeks is ideal. Too early and the baby hasn't put on the "fat" yet, but too late and they start to get squished.

The place I went to said not to do it past 32 weeks, so I don't think 30 is too late at all. I think with my last pregnancy I was around 28 or 29 weeks and the pics were great. I went this time at 31 weeks because of scheduling and wasn't as happy. He was all squished and it was hard to get a good pic.

I had my last one done just shy of 30 weeks. In fact the place didn't recommend doing it after 30 bc they're all scrunched up and it's hard to get good pics.

I didn't go for one specifically but at my 30 week growth Sono the tech took a bunch of 3d pictures, they were amazing. Even now at 3 months old my son makes some of the faces he made in the pictures.

I'd ask your doc!

My doc has a machine that can do it in the office, but both my kids were squished against the placenta & their faces were mostly obliterated. I got decent views of the hands in 3D.

Yes, we had them attempt a few times at 30-32ish weeks.
