When is the best time to fly with an infant? Bedtime?
I'm trying to decide if we should book an evening flight so DS can sleep the entire way or an early morning flight when he is most pleasant.

I flew to SC in the beginning of the month with my DD and I flew around her nap times. It work perfect for me. She was a little fussy for the first 15 minutes or so, then slept the entire flight .

Re: When is the best time to fly with an infant? Bedtime?
We've flown a LOT with Alex - at various times - and it always worked better if we flew the redeye flight so she would sleep during the flight.
We're heading out to Israel in 2 weeks (12 hour flight) and for the flight there and back, we leave around 9/10pm, which is PERFECT for the girls. I won't have to tend to them as much, and (hopefully) will be able to get some rest myself during the flight.

Re: When is the best time to fly with an infant? Bedtime?
I flew on an overnight flight with DD who was 3 months at the time. She did great. She had her bottle during takeoff and then fell asleep for the rest of the flight.
Our return flight was during the day and it was terrible. She couldn't settle to nap and the cabin lights never turned off (like they do at night) so she was miserable and so were we.

Depends on the flight, internationally, I would say bedtime, or cross country.
For a domestic flight or a flight to say, the Caribbean, I would fly first thing in the morning. That is what I still choose to do with DS and I feel it makes life much easier on all of us
