When staying in a hotel..
I have a feeling this is going to get moved to either "relationship" or "travel", but here goes
Do you specify the type of bed you want? (e.g. king, queen, etc.)
Let's say you get your room and there are 2 queen beds. Do you:
A. Ask for another room with a king? B. Each of you takes a bed C. You both sleep in the same bed
We all share a bed at home with our SO's, but I'm wondering how important it is to you when you go away?

We have to have a King
DH is 6'4" - he doesn't fit well in a Queen.

Re: When staying in a hotel..
I would do option A or C.
I would ask for a King bed first.

Re: When staying in a hotel..
We would both sleep in the same bed. A queen's bigger than the full sized bed we share at home. I can't see why we would sleep in separate beds...

Re: When staying in a hotel..
I like to have a king bed when we go away, but it's not something I must have. We sleep on a queen at home, so we're used to it. DH always sleeps better in a king though. Because I'm far far away and can't nudge him like I usually do.

Re: When staying in a hotel..
We always request a king bed when we make the reservation. We find out at check in if this request is granted and ask them to check availability if it's not met for some reason.
If we end up in a room with two queen beds, we share the bed.
If it's 2 double beds, we each get our own bed

Re: When staying in a hotel..
We ask for a king or if they are booked out of queens, a king. If they have neither we'll take 2 doubles and sleep in one.

Re: When staying in a hotel..
We always ask for a king. If we get two double or two queens then we will just sleep in the same bed - we have a queen at home so it's not really an issue.
BUT, we have been put in rooms with two single beds and we have asked to be moved. Honestly I wouldnt want to sleep in seperate beds even if just for a couple of days, although my husband would probably love to get away from my tossing and turning.

Re: When staying in a hotel..
If we can't get a King, we'll each take a Queen. DH says I steal the covers, and he sprawls too much onto my side, so this works out well for a few days!!!

Re: When staying in a hotel..
ok, let me ask this
if you're used to a queen bed, that's one thing
but let's say you're used to a king, and one is not available
why is sharing the same bed always a "must"
especially when it's only for a few days

that's my feeling
i mean all you're doing is sleeping and when you're sleeping - comfort is the #1 rule

Re: When staying in a hotel..
We usually always ask for a King, if its not already specicfied in the reservation. Never had a situation where we had a room with 2 queens - if it came up we would probably ask if there was a room with a King available, if not - we would sleep in one together.
