When to change nipples?
DS is 9 weeks old, but big for his age. I noticed in the past week he has been gassier than usual and seems to be sucking harder on the nipple when feeding. Does this mean he is ready for the next nipple size? I can't think of anything we have been doing differently lately. He is sloppy - formula down his chin, but he has always been a sloppy eater since he was born.

i was told when it takes them alot longer to finish eating. My dd was eating pretty quickly, then one day it took forever for her to finish a bottle. Thats when i went to next stage.

You might want to try the next size - you can always switch back.
My ped said that if they have to suck too hard to get anything out - it will cause more gass and you should change nipple.

I'd give it a shot...they recommend at 3 months but if he is gassy I think you should try it out. Good luck!

DD is 7 months old. I keep trying the level 2 nipples every so often, but DD has trouble taking her bottle then and dribbles most of it down her chin, so we've just stuck with the level 1 nipples.

Same with us. DD just doesn't seem to like the level II whenever I try to introduce it to her (she is 6 mos). I first tried at 4 months and it did not go well.

wow at a little less than 3 months we were on level 2...ds got bored with level 1 and took forever to finish, and now with level 2, he does great.
