When was your child potty trained?
I am just curious. Mikayla will go a few times a day at the sitter but will not go at home
the sitter said to maybe put her right into underwear but I think she is a bit too young for that (she JUST turned 2)
I am hoping that she will be completely potty trained by 3.

Re: When was your child potty trained?
She was mostly trained just after 2 1/2. At that point, she still wore pull-ups just in case & she did have accidents at least once a day. By 3, she was completely trained, in underwear all day & not having accidents anymore.

Re: When was your child potty trained?
Julia was fully potty trained at 2 1/2, she got a UTI and didn't want to wear diapers anymore, and just started to use the potty, I couldn't believe how easy it was for us, I thought it would take forever to get her in undies!!

Re: When was your child potty trained?
I am wondering if it will help to switch her to pull ups or If I should wait a bit and then put her right into underware

Re: When was your child potty trained?
2 years 9 mos, but I didn't even start until she turned 2. When she was ready, it took about a week or two!
I never did the pull-up thing (except overnight) based upon some advice on LIF and IRL.

2 years 4 months. Never did pull ups. Just waited until she was really ready and went right to undies.

Re: When was your child potty trained?
Both were trained at 2 yrs 8 months and we went right to underware, only used pull ups at night for a bit, but never during the day, I thought it would just confuse them.

Re: When was your child potty trained?
27 months old. We went straight to underwear and she was potty trained in 3 days (with only 2 accidents)!

Re: When was your child potty trained?
3 years exactly. He was poopy trained at 2 years, 6 months. He just got lazy about peeing
2 years, 10 months
Both went full time to underwear and did not use pull-ups except for night time.

Re: When was your child potty trained?
#1 Right before he turned 3 - like the week or two before. Went right to undies when he said he was ready.

Re: When was your child potty trained?
#1- at 3 years. #2 - 15 months, totally trained by 2
I found the best way was to go cold turkey. If you are using pull-ups but underwear underneath. That way she is uncomfortable but your furniture is safe. The problem with extended use of pull-ups was it's easy for them to get lazy and just go rather than stop what they are doing and run to the bathroom. The last thing you want to try to deal with is a kid who is perfectly happy with a dirty pull-up.
While people have said no one goes to college in diapers, I know someone who had to deal with a 7 year old who was fine with not making it to the bathroom (I wish I was kidding).

Re: When was your child potty trained?
I think right when she was 2, maybe 25 months. I personally think pull ups are a waste. Go straight to the underwear.

Re: When was your child potty trained?
DD was 2&1/2. It went really well with her. We introduced the potty long before that but she wasn't interested. One day I knew she was going to poop so I put her on the potty and she did it there. We made a huge deal out it. Celebrated and all. We then went right to underwear and after about 2 days she was fully trained.
