Calling ALL moms who have potty trained a child - teachers pls too!
This is not for me by the way!
This may be long so bare with me please - I want to give you some backstory: My cousin has twin boys who just started kindergarten. Jake (my godson) has had problems since the day he was born (heart surgery, wearing glasses since he was two, now wears a patch over his eye for the next seven years) - just so many big things he has had to overcome.
They started kindergarten in seperate classes. Luke has adjusted perfectly and is a social butterfly.
Jake unfortunately has not had such an easy time. Since day 1 of school he has reverted back to having accidents at least once a week. Poop and pee. He also hides it - and will sometimes stay in his soiled underwear until he gets home that day.
They switched him out of his class and moved him into Luke's class hoping that was part of the problem (thinking he missed Luke) and also because there were issues with his teacher - and he has had less accidents - but they have not stopped all together.
Yesterday - he pooped in his pants - and a little poop fell out onto the floor - and one of the other kids touched it and got it all over him.
My cousins are beside themselves. They don't know what to do with him. He will go to the bathroom everywhere else - even JET games -- it ONLY happens in school which leads us all to believe it's more of a mental thing - then any potty training problems.
They have tried incentives - it still doesn't work.
Our ped suggests that he sees a child psychologist now - and also that they put him back in pullups.
My cousin is so upset and at a loss for what to do. I'm hoping that someone - anyone can have any sort of insight with this.
If you read this whole thing - thank you so much!

Re: Calling ALL moms who have potty trained a child
I just went through the same thing with Lea !!! Finally the teacher and nurse worked with me and the teacher spoke with her asking why she was having so many accidents (she would have 3 a day ) and finally she admitted to the teacher she was afraid she was going to get locked in there !! The teacher explained to her that she is right there and even if she gets stuck she will be there to get her out !!! And the nurse has been giving her stickers everday she doesnt have an accident !! Now 3 weeks later she hasnt had 1 accident ,and her doc was going to send us to the Uroligist b/c she thought she had an overactive bladder ,which i was confused about b/c it didnt happen at home or even at night !!! Every child is different and I hope my story helped and I really hope they can get to the bottom of this
