When you 1st started ttc.............

Did you track your temp, use ovulation kits or just go for it and have a good time?

If you just went for it, how long into the process did it take for you to use other measures?

We just had this discussion at work and was wondering what everyones thoughts were?

We were going to "go with the flow" for a while, but it was apparent right away that I had issues with my cycle, so we went right to OPK's, etc....

We decided to just go with the flow and see what happened. I had a chemical PG the first month and then started using CBEFM 2 months later. We have only been TTC with CBEFM for 1 month.

We just went with the flow for about 3 months. Then started using OPKs and have been using them for 3 months but this is only the second month actively TTC with them. I'm due for AF i think tomorrow or Sat so we'll see.

We tried for 3 months and the 3rd month is when I used an OPK. It worked

we just started trying and we're winging it for a while...

And then if it takes a while, we'll think about other options. But we're going to see what happens first!

When I first started TTC, I started temping and using the CBEFM right away. I'm 36, so I wanted to optimize my chances as soon as possible. No luck yet, but I'm trying to be optimistic!

We just decided to give it a try. We locked ourselves in at home for a weekend (when I thought I was ovulating) and went to town! No tests, no temping... Got a BFP on the first day of my missed period..

I thought it was going to be SO much harder!!

We just went off the pill and are just giving it a try. It's only been a few weeks so we will see :) We just do what we normally do, no temping.. I don;t even know when I am ovulating because my system is just getting used to being off bcp, no charting.

If it takes a few months then maybewe'll try it that way.

We didn't do anything for the first 2 months then I temped to make sure I was ovulating for the next 3 still with no luck. Now we are awaiting an appointment with a urologist for my DH. It has been more of a process then expected.

We didn't do any thing right away. It is our 4th month. I won't try OPK's or temping until after 6 months. I rationalize that stats say that it takes the average couple 6 months to get PG. So after I pass the average length mark I will try other methods.

I went off the pill in March, but because of issues (i.e. lack of sleep and my father living with us), we didn't really make a concerted effort to try until June, but really a half-arsed effort. Our first month of *really* trying and timing it, based on what I thought was the time I was ovulating, was last month. But, now I know I was WAY off.

This month I bought the CBEFM and started charting.

I'm 35, so we really didn't want to just see what happened and potentially waste time. I started charting & temping right away, then I started using OPKs and pre-seed the second month. The third month I also added in a few supplements for both of us.

1st month, didn't use anything to help just went by "if it happens it happens". 2nd month, tried an OPK but a cheap one and wasn't testing each day like I should have. 3rd month (now) haven't used an OPK just went by O dates according to www.yourdays.com. If this isn't my month I plan on purchasing the digital Clearblue Easy OPK and will start becoming more serious about it.

Well for the first few months we hadn't decided we were definately going to try, just had a bunch of "oops" nights. A few months later we finally decided to really try and I think I bought the OPK's then. I just used them for awhile and then after 6 months I finally decided to temp which really made no difference since we have male factor

The first few months, we just winged it! I didn't want to get too crazy into the entire thing as I wanted Bding to be fun still & not seen as baby making. I started to use OPK's last month so I could see when I was ovulating & if it was coniciding with my EWCM that I was getting. I was right. Who knows where I stand at this point as I am still waiting on AF on CD38

I started temping two month prior to TTC. I wanted to have the best chance possible. When we started TTC, we still temped and used OPK's. This is our fourth month of TTC and so far nothing. I'm glad at least we didn't try to wing it, we would be that much further behind.

It's been 6 months for us now, at first it was just whatever....after the 3rd month I bought OPK's and then I hated it and I bought my monitor. This is my 1st month using the monitor. I thought temping was too complicated for me...
The monitor is awesome, I like it it's very cut and dry.

I was using OPKs for a few months after I came off BCP just to see what my cycle was like. We weren't TTC then. The 1st month we tried I only used them and got a BFP, but I had a really regular cycle, even the 1st month off BCP.

This is our first month TTC. My Dr. told to me
to BD 10, 12 & 14 DPO so that's what we did.
Now were just waiting. If it doesn't happen I might
buy some OPK's.

did he tell u to BD 10,12, & 14 DPO or 10, 12, 14 days of cycle.. 1st day of period is Day1.
maybe the lingo is screwing me up!!

I decided to temp and use CBFM. We started to conceive in Feb and conceived in June. By May I knew what day I ovulated even before I got the results of the CBFM because of temping.
