Re: When you bathe your newborn...

I bathe DS in the kitchen sink. I fill it about halfway. I then use the baby lounger chair thing. Water comes up to his waist about.

Well, I used the hammock thing that came with the bathtub so the baby is halfway in the water.

Just about waist deep, then I put a wet facecloth on his belly so he doesn't get cold.

With my son, he is 8 weeks. it is more of a sponge bath. He does not like it yet and I need to do it as quickly as possible.

I feel it is ok now because he does not really get dirty.

Re: When you bathe your newborn...

I have that blue one with the green hammock. (newborn/infant/toddler bath).. Its a pain to drain out the soapy water so I can rinse her off, so I only fill water up about half way.. dd is not really in the water. so its more like a sponge bath. (shes 5 weeks old Today!!)

I use the hammock one too. DD also wears the thin hoodie towel so that she is warm while I am bathing her. I bathe her section at a time. She loves the water!

He lays in the seat thingy that comes with the tub and the water goes to about his tighs. I put the wash cloth over his belly so he's not cold.

Re: When you bathe your newborn...

Before the cord fell off, sponge bath. AFter the cord fell off, I put the water all the way up to DDs armpits in the infant tub. She loves her baths.

I bathe Frankie in the kitchen sink and I fill the entire sink up! He'll scream his lil head off if he's not completely submerged!!

Re: When you bathe your newborn...

well, we put her in the sling of the tub, but we just dump water on her. We don't submerge any part of her in water.

When we are lazy, we put her on the sponge and basically make a big mess and get water everywhere, but we find it's a little easier to manipulate. Although, she did pee on the sponge last night.

I thought the instructions on the tub said to only put like 2 inches of water in the tub? Which doesn't touch her anyway cause of the sling, so we stopped filling it and just dump water on her.

Re: When you bathe your newborn...

i felt like she was too fragile and tiny to sit in the bath seat so I would sponge bath her on a towel and just keep a bowl/soap/washcloth next to me. Once she got a little older (prolly a month or so) i started laying her in the sink on the bath seat. Now at 7 months she sits up in the sink

Re: When you bathe your newborn...

DS is 3.5 months old and we still use the hammock. I don't fill the tub up too much - just enough so that his tush is in the water.
