When you drive past a school.....
do you slow down or keep up with your speed? I slow down, but when I was younger I didnt care.  Im horrible!!!

when i drive past a school, if there is a reduced speed limit, i slow down. if there isn't, i don't usually. i may think/drive differently once  arrives.

I usually slow down if it's during school hours. Otherwise, I drive at the normal speed limit.

I would think that by every school there is a slower speed limit sign, am I incorrect in thinking this 
anyone, I always slow down.
I would want cars to do it if my child was there, so why would I not for another person child

so true. I also think that once i had my own kid and saw what happened to one of the crossing guards near my home town (she got hit by a car and almost died) i realized that is not good at all to drive by a school fast.

Some of the schools in my area have huge speed bumps in front of them. I learned my lesson the first time, I now go super slow in front of schools.

I always slow down.
I actually called a "How's My Driving" number on the back of a van that was speeding though a school zone and weaving in and out of cars.

I'll slow down during school hours....My best friend got a speeding ticket in a school zone and it came with many points and a HUGE increase in her insurance!

I always slow down bc I know a lot of schools have after-hours and weekend programs going on so kids might be around at any time.
I slow down even MORE during school hours.

Me too. I like it when they have your speed posted on the sign. It's much easier to go the speed limit (15 or 20 mph) when you have the feedback of the sign telling you exactly how fast you are going.

I know, I'm a terrible person!! But honestly, it's just not something that crosses my mind. I think it's b/c the schools in my area are WAY off the road so I hardly ever see any kids walking around. However, if I did see kids on the street or sidewalk, I would slow down.

honestly, yes- always. my mom drives BOCES children on a bus and I grew up being very aware of school zones from her.
I can also say that once I had to bring someone up to town hall to watch someone elses hearing and the #1 reason people were there (and I'm talking 90-95% of the people) was because they sped thru a school zone--- and we're talking 2-5 miles over, not 15 miles.... I didn't realize how little you'd have to do to get a ticket.

I ALWAYS do--whether its a weekend or not. a VERY close family friend was killed in front of her school on a weekend, so I always think of her.
