When you switched to cow's milk or soy....
how many cups/oz's a day did you give DC?
I'm going to take her off the formula and bottle this weekend - both cold turkey (wish me luck!!) I'm just unsure on how to go about it? Do you give a cup of milk when DC first wakes up and right before bed like I do the bottle? What about during the day?
Anyone have problems with Silk Soymilk? Diarhea? Gas? etc.
I switched DD to a straw cup which she really seems to like. When she was waking up sick at night she would take that with water vs. a bottle. So I'm hoping this goes smoothly.

You just substitute the formula for the milk the same way you were giving her the formula.
So in the morning, then if you give it to her at naptime and then at bedtime. (not sure when you give it to her but it's an example)
Good luck!

This is what I did as well, but I slowly weaned them off of the formula, so the cups had both in them.

Re: When you switched to cow's milk or soy....
I believe the Dr. told me that at 1 they need 16 oz of milk, but that could come from milk, yogurt, cheese, etc. So I just gave DD a large sippy cup,I think 9oz of milk in the morning and she usually gets yogurt during the day too. At night we will give her a little milk with dinner too.
When I work from home on tuesday and friday she usually gets more milk during the day, otherwise at daycare it is about 1/4 apple juice with water.
Oh, I also started DD with 2% milk and not whole milk, Dr. said that was fine.

Re: When you switched to cow's milk or soy....
NO cold turkey for me!
I gradually added milk to DS formula just to make sure he didnt have any reactions. After a week he was fully on milk. After I knew he was good with that transition, I got rid of his Dr. B's bottles and started to use the Nuby cups with the handles. He gets 3 8oz cups per day.
I know your DS has had numerous issues with her ears you may want to talk to your ENT specialist if she needs a certian type of cup. I bought a Born Free training cup not to long ago and read that type helps reduce ear infections due to the reduced vacuum that other cups have. Just thought I would share.

I did it cold turkey for Michael. He took to it right away and no problems.
