When your baby is starting to wake up...
do they make grunting noises?
If so, how long do you let them go like that before getting them?

Yes, sort of grunting/rustling around sounds. It depends on what I am doing at the time Sometimes I go get her right away and sometimes I leave her. Quite a few times she has fallen back asleep.

she is co sleeping in the room with us, so I hear her, but as long as she is not crying I let her go a while. I just wondered if other babies wake like that

Re: When your baby is starting to wake up...
This is very normal. I let DS stay in the crib while he made noises...I didnt pick him up at the 1st noise...usually only when it turned into a true cry.
I have read it is very good to let them play in the crib themselves and just explore looking at the mobile/crib toys
I did this with DS and now at 11 months he is very social but also doesnt need to be entertained all the time

DS does the same thing. I hear him through the monitor, I generally let him grunt, coo, laugh until he either cries or I can tell he is getting frustrated.
Alot of times he will wake to pass gas or poop or for some unknown reason, do what he has to do and then put himself back to sleep so I give it time.
In the AM he is generally awake in his crib for about 20-30 minutes talking to his "friends" before I go get him.

Yes, LOL! I always say he sounds like a little farm animal, he makes the funniest noises. I let him do it for a while until it turns into a real cry usually before I pick him up.

Julia did the same, she never cried only grunted--lol She would stop once I put her in bed with me.

I try and let DD go as long as I can deal with it and I definitely get her once it turns into a cry. For my DD she can grunt for hours and it keeps me up, so eventually I just get her. A lot of the time she is doing it in her sleep so if I can fall back asleep through the noise, I do it because I may get another hour or so out of her.
