he usually falls asleep while BFing. if he's still awake, it takes a minute max.

by time I change her, feed her, burp her, re-swaddle her, and get her back to sleep it takes an hour!

before the bottles was finished, both kids were already sleeping. Thankfully, both kids drank fast, so I was back in bed within 20 minutes!

when he wakes up, we diaper him, feed him, and then eventually he falls asleep. The entire process takes one hour.

Me too!!!!
It depends. If we're talking a newborn (only a few weeks old), than yes it could take up to an hour. My son was a slow eater.

Oh man.. Sadie would have me up at min 90 mins when she woke as a newborn. She never fell asleep on the bottle and I would be up FOREVER.
she started sleeping through till 4am at 9 weeks and all the way through soon after, but even now at 4.5 months, she rarely falls asleep on a bottle.

I would avoid mid-night diaper changes unless s/he wets through. All that jostling makes them more awake, and harder to get back to sleep.
Both my two would generally fall right back asleep post BF/bottle.

I started using nightime diapers so I don't change them anymore at night. Ronan eats and is asleep within minutes after. It takes Declan about 20 mins
I do not take them out of their cribs to feed them and I don't talk to them other than shhhing or soothing words. I prop them on their boppies and either hold the bottle or make a nest out of blankets to hold them. Sometimes I fold laundry if I prop

same.
but i don't change him or unswaddle at night anymore. i put a very thick coat of desitin, huggie diaper at night bc it seems more absorbant than his pampers, and i put a 'rubber' diaper over the diaper just in case he leaks (but he almost never does.)
try not to change him and see what happens.

I stopped doing middle of the night diaper changes and that helped alot. Now, I nurse him for about 15 min and he falls asleep. So now more then 20-30 min.

Depends---she could fall asleep at the breast within 20 minutes or be up an hour---I prefer the first option!

depends on time of day...during the night - seconds.
during the day, sometimes 20 minutes.
She always fell back asleep.

Same here...Last night was 45 mins..she drinks a little faster, but, the burping part takes forever once in a while.

My son seems to have had a lot of the same issues your son is going through. Up until he was 3 months old I was up with him for over an hour every night in the middle of the night. He had such bad digestion problems that I couldn't just put him down to sleep after he ate.
He's about 13 weeks now and goes to sleep right after eating now, but that only started happening in the past few weeks.

After he finishes BFing, I rock him for a while to make sure he is really asleep before I put him down. Granted he is a week old today but I usually rock him for around 15 min in the glider. Then he goes down no problem.
