When your toddler has a cold do you
still take them to a park/playground ? DD has a bad cold, it started yesterday morning. She has no fever (yet) but she has a runny nose, congested, sneezing and coughing, she is in good spirits though. She's been asking me to take her to a playground around the corner all morning long. I said no but I feel so bad, bc she is so bored  It's just that since she just got this cold she is very contagious and will give it to other kids (DH already has a sore throat and I have been sneezing all morning) , plus I know she is going to run around a lot and I don't think it's good for her right now, especially when she is so congested and it's so hot out.
Am I crazy? Should I just take her out ?

I would take her out. She's probably going to get tired very quickly but at least she'll get out a bit and probably nap better.

Yes, IMO they need to get outside into fresh air. I just use universal precautions as if everyone has something (plenty of tissues, water, hand sanitizer, wet ones)
