Can you do anything for a toddler with a bad cold?
DS is so stuffy, coughing, and sneezing. The yuck from his nose is creamy, not green, which is good. But honestly, he sounds like sh*t. When he breathes in through his nose, he sounds like he's purring, and he just sounds so congested. We have a nebulizer so we will probably start that today, but other than that, is there anything else we can do? We elevate his bed, use the humidifier, etc. Is there anything you can give to a 23 month old?
Also, I am torn about whether or not to send him to the babysitter tomorrow. There are a few other kids there, and I don't want to be THAT parent, but can I justify keeping him home and taking a day off of work for a cold????? What would you do??

They really don't recommend using any kind of cold medicine on a 2 year old - have you tried saline drops? There's also an automatic, battery operated boogie sucker by Graco that's really amazing, I highly recommend it!
To clear out his sinuses, you can also try to steam up the bathroom and sit in there with him for 15 minutes.
As for the babysitter - I keep Alex home if the snot is green/yellow which indicates and infection, if she has a fever, or if she's off. Plenty of times she has a runny nose and she's just fine, and I send her, but if she seems lethargic, clingy or just off, I keep her home with me
