IKEA! Let's call it vintage grad school..... but I swear it's still in perfect shape...
for a modern couple like us, it's either ikea or flipping beaucoup d'argent for a designer item..... and we're not too into spending $18k for a couch  although if I did, I know EXACTLY which I'd get  (Karim rashid's conversation pit in red) Image Attachment(s):

Rooms to go.com. I actually ordered it online and never even saw it in person. I LOVE it and after 2 years looks like new.
