Where did you get ideas for paint colors?
I have no idea where to start. Did you use websites, magazines, just go get paint chips? Help!!!

We watched a lot of HGTV, played around on paint mfr. websites and got paint chips. Luckily we were always in agreement about the types of colors we wanted to use in each room...we just had to work on the exact shades a bit...

We are finally getting around to paint some more rooms. I've found the shows on HGTV and the site to be a huge help. I'm really liking the "Rate my space" section on HGTV.com, lots of great ideas.
Also going to Home Depot and Lowes to look at the booklets with sample rooms.

I used one swatch of material for one of my living room chairs, and pulled all 4 colors in my house from that swatch. It was my color inspiration.

my mom is an interior designer so that helped alot. I just kept looking at pics of her jobs
but i also looked at mags

I found all of our colors in a watercolor painting we bought on our honeymoon.
I asked an aunt for advice on how to make sure they 'flowed' in our house.

I'm looking for ideas too and have been buying and saving several different magazines like BH&G, Cottage Living, Southern Living, pottery barn catalog.
Also, HGTV, LIF, thenest.com
