Where did you stay in London & Paris?

My DH and I are looking into london & paris as a last-minute trip.
We were thinking of doing 3 nights in London and 5 nights in Paris.
Do you think that is a good split to see everything (or should we do 4 & 4)?

Also, we're looking for a clean hotel in a good location that is moderately priced.
Any recommendations for either city?

I'm currently in the process of booking a trip to London and Amsterdam for next May. I've done a lot of research and I think I'm leaning towards staying at the Park Plaza Riverbank London. It's right on the Thames. I've read a lot of positive reviews on trip advisor.

Not sure of the price (DH booked it), but we stayed in the Paris Hilton near the Eiffel Tower. Great hotel, everyone spoke English which made being in a foreign country a little easier.

For Paris I like the Hotel LeVignon and for London The Parkcity. Both are small boutique hotels in really fantastic areas.

If you are looking for a budget hotel in London, my sister and I stayed at the Park International. It is in converted row houses in Kensington up the block for the V&A museum and Harrods and close to Hyde Park. There is a supermarket on the corner where we stocked up on all sorts of things for the room. Nothing fancy, but it was a great spot to get some rest.
