Where did you take DC for their 1 year bloodwork?
Ped doesn't do bloodwork in the office, so they told me to go to a quest diagnostics. I'm nervous to take her there because I don't know how often they deal with babies. Can anyone recommend a place you took your DC too and had a good experience?

The lab at good sam in west islip. It went as well as it could. She said she deals with babies all the time. She only stuck him once and did it quick. He cried of course but it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be.

We took DS to a lab in RVC. They're so used to taking blood they all pretty much can do a good job. She was great and fast. DS sat on DH's lap, the woman held his arm, he cried then it was over a done with. He was fine by the time we left.

We went to a LapCorp in Huntington. I checked on their website and found one that said it was a "pediatric" site.

We went to quest. I have BCBS so Quest is preferred so we have to go there. The ped's office also told me we could go to st. charles hospital to get the blood work done and they're really good there.
needless to say, i went to quest, asked for someone who was good with little kids, i was told everyone. So i got one of the regular ladies there that i knew from getting all my blood work done. Asked her again about having someone really good with kids. She saw my DD squirming and got another tech in there who was better with kids. i would definitly just keep stressing that you want someone good with kids.

We went to a LabCorp facility that "specialized" in pediatrics. The nurse was great and DD didn't make a peep, she watched the needle go in and out and was fine (DH held her). Me however...the nurse had to ask me to sit down so I wouldn't pass out.

We went to Quest in Huntington. Same building as my ped. I booked the appointment online and noted it was for pediatric. When we got there I made sure that the person drawing the blood was good with kids.
We had no problems.

My peds office recommened a place (but only because their system is linked with theirs or something) but I called my insurance company and that place was not covered and they told me that I had to go to quest. I called quest first to make sure that they had people that specialized in babies and they told me that everyone there was good at taking babies blood  Needless to say, the person sucked and took about 5 minutes to get DS's vein and once she did get the vein, the blood barely came out. No good!
