Where do you buy your fresh fruit?
I usually go to Fairway b/c the Stop and Shop and King Kullin by me seems to have old fruit that goes bad VERY quickly. I know that I pay a bit more by going to Fairway, not to mention the 15 minute car ride there....so anyone have any suggestions? I am in the North Wantagh area!
TIA!

COSTCO! it is the best...we go through A LOT of fruit..so you cant beat the price and the quantity..and it is always delicious! And lasts a lot longer than the supermarkets in our experience!

Stop and Shop - I just don't have the time to make 10 different trips, and even though it's more expensive, their fruit is always fresh and delicious .........
If I happen to be in BJs, I pick stuff up there too b/c they also have great fresh fruit

Yep most of the time stop and shop or a local market, although its pretty pricey it has very fresh fruits and vegetables and is super clean.

Sweet Pea on Hillside avenue in New Hyde Park - they have tons of fresh fruit at amazing prices. The produce guy is normally there each day and will help you pick out fruit.

Re: Where do you buy your fresh fruit?
Thanks everyone! I have a BJ's membership, I will try and look there. My DH grandmother lives over by JOhns Farms and swears by them, but she has the same complaint about how crazy it is there! I tried Wantagh Farms a few times. I guess I just have to hit it at the right time. I found that the fruit was good, but it didn't last more than a day or so. Although, they usually have great sales on eggs!!!
DS really loves his fruit! I am gonna look into all of these places! I also work near NHP road so I will stop by there one day on my way home!!

Re: Where do you buy your fresh fruit?
Fruit store in my neighborhood. Cheaper prices and better quality than the supermarkets.
Sometimes I will buy from the fruit guy on the corner where my work is. At the end of the day he will give discounts on the fruit he wants to get rid of. Beats the prices of the fruit store.

I often buy fruit at the fruit stands on the street. We live in Manhattan.

I go to Valentino - it's on 107 (Hicksville Rd) in North Massapequa -- next to Paddy's Loft. Must be close to you.
Best Yet in Farmingdale sometimes.
Or else Cross Island Fruits in Malverne if I am in that area.

I also like the fruit/vegeatable store in N.Bellmore on the Wantagh border. I don't know the name of it but its on Jersualem just west of the Dunkin Donuts drive thru.
