Where do you get pre approved/ pre qualified?
My husbnd and I are thinking about starting to look at houses this summer. We are not too serious now but we want an idea of whats out there and for how much. I heard that its good to get pre approved/qualified to see how much we can afford etc. Am I right in thinking that ? and who does that? TIA I am so dumb in this whole house thing.

Yes, it's a good idea....not only for yourself but most every offer we put in, the seller wanted to see a pre-approval/qual letter.
We went to our bank...and wound up using them for our mortgage.

Re: Where do you get pre approved/ pre qualified?
if your a teacher and a memeber of a credit union- that would be the first place I would go
if your not a memeber - you can open account with as little as $50 and get the same deals as anyone else there
