Nope. It's high in acid which keeps it from going bad. It doesn't say refrigerate after opening on the label. Oh, and I like Hunts more. So I'm waaaay in the ketchup minority, I know.
I eat warm Hunts ketchup.
(though I get a bottle of Heinz for BBQs. I know better than to forcefeed people Hunts)

When my exH lived w/ his mom they hadd 2 bottles, hers in the fridge, his in the pantry.

Never in the fridge, always in the larder unit (pantry) we have such a small fridge, the bottle would never fit anyway.

I grew up having it in the pantry, when I got married DH kept putting it in the fridge so that's where it is. I like room temp ketchup.

Cold peanut butter is an entirely different kettle of fish. DH insists on putting my damn PB in the fridge and I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaate it.

I've heard that before, but I've yet to get sick from it and it definitely stays in the pantry for more than a month.
It's like any other food...if it starts to look or smell weird, chuck it.
