Where do you take your little ones for shots when your Ped. doesn't do them?

They could have made it a lot easier for me if they gave the shots. They gave me prescription for my son who is 1 to get shots to check for anemia and other things. It's routine blood work around that age I was told.

They told me to check for places that have a pediatrics type atmosphere. I don't know of any place other than Quest Diagnostics in the Huntington Medical Group that I think is just for everyone. The receptionist also told me to check at Huntington Hospital.

Where do you take your children for routine shots that the pediatricians will not do? Am I making this a big deal, just go to Quest right?

Well- my ins sends me to a specific lab.

We have done all of our blood work at Quest, and they have been so good with my son!

I am a bit confused by "shots".

Do you mean bloodwork? My PED does not do it either. I had to go a the lab that my insurance covers. They do bloodwork on younger children. You just have to call and ask them if their office does it.

Or do you mean shots as vaccination? I have never seen a PED not giving shots.

I wouldn't just go to Quest. A lot of insurance companies stopped working with them in the pastyear and you don't want to have to cover the bill.

Call your insurance company and ask them where to go!
