Where to buy a brooch? UPDATED with pics!

Nice quality, but not too $$$. To wear on the strap strap of the dress I posted yesterday. Thanks!

UPDATE:

Thanks, everyone who told me to go to the Garment District. Funny story, I went into one place and a lady told the saleswoman she was looking for brooches. I said, "me too!", and the lady showed me around to some of her favorite places. We got to talking and spent 2 hours together scouring different shops! It was such a nice day! The last place I went into was the best, and I got a brooch and a pair of earrings that matched. That place was at the corner of 6th Ave and 36th st, just like you girls said!
Plus the whole store was half off so I spent $34 total.

Here are the goods:

NY&CO has really cute ones this year all like $15-$20 or so.

Re: Where to buy a brooch?

Thanks, guys. I'm so mad...White House Black Market has had just what I want in the past, usually around the holidays.

Anyone know of any similar stores? I kind of want to get one with black stones and matching black earrings/bracelet.

Just go to 6th ave starting around 36/37th streets. Tons of them! Some are wholesale only but it says so on the door. I went into a few places before I found something I liked. Good luckChat Icon Chat Icon

So they are just jewelry stores that you walk into? And most of them aren't expensive?

ETA: so kind of near Herald Square stop?

Re: Where to buy a brooch?

I am going back tomorrow too! lol

Just walk down 6th avenue and when you hit the 30's you will see all the little jewlery shops similar to the kiosks in the malls..

Re: Where to buy a brooch?

I second fashion district, I've found amazingly well done jewelery knock offs there.

If you don't want the trip to the city, I have a pretty broach from Tri-County Flea Market, in Levittown

Re: Where to buy a brooch?

I also agree with the suggestion of heading over to the fashion district. There are real store fronts with great brooches for very little money. I purchased one for my wedding for $15 that I had seen in a high end dress shop for over $400. It was the same brooch.
