Where to get the best keratin treatment done
I have gone to different places. Some were awesome and my hair basically air dried straight and frizz free for months. Other places I could barely tell the difference. The girl who I like no longer does it. Please tell me where to go and how much if you remember. Would prefer western suffolk south shore but will travel a lil if worth it

I've only ever had it done at Red Door in Garden City. I think it was about $350. They did a good job and it seemed to last for about 5 months usually.

Amanda at DiRosa's in Franklin Square (a very popular salon) is amazing! She does keratin extremely well and is thorough. The cost is about 250.

I have always done it myself also.
Not hard at all and even easier if you have someone to help you. You can buy all different brands on ebay. For the cost you pay at a salon for one try you can get 10-12 out of a bottle depending on your hair.

I have long hair, wavy and frizzy from blonde highlights. Check out my album for before and after, that was prob 2-3 yrs ago and I've done it at least 5x more myself. - First, I wash my hair and dry it but still leave it slightly damp. I apply the keratin (wear gloves & be in well ventilated room) to hair, let it sit about 15 mins. I then dry my hair with keratin in it. This takes a while. Now that my hair is dry, I section off my hair. take a 1" straightening iron, highest heat setting. Begin straightening small sections. Pass the iron over each section 2-3x. Do this to your whole head. This is what takes a while. Now you're done and hair is straight. I generally wait a day or two, then wash and style as usual. Comes out great every time. The only real downside is that it takes me about 2 hours.

Re: Where to get the best keratin treatment done
Here is my hair now. It's a little darker and healthier since I've gotten rid of a lot of the blonde. But it's still so straight and soft from the keratin I did about 3 mos ago.
