where to go Christmas week, driving
We usually go to our place in Florida but we are doing work on it this year and it will not be ready in time. Where is fun to go driving distance from NYC kids ages 4 and 7, not super expensive...thanks

Ski. The Berkshires are a great place for young kids to learn and have nice restaurants and hotels.
Philly. Lots of great museums and restaurants. They also have a great new space by the water that has a skating rink
DC: museums, restaurants and beautiful public places
We love Florida too, but with lack of enough vacation time, not in the cards for us, so we will be local/ski if weather permits.
You could, of course, do a place with an indooor water park. I just don’t feel those places in the winter!

Around Christmas time we usually drive somewhere for a few days -
DC Boston Philly
We are doing Kalahari this year. We did love DC and Boston. Lots to do and see.

We have been to the Berkshires over Christmas break. We went skiing at Butternut. There is a nice Courtyard Marriott that had movies and activities for the kids. Everything is so overpriced for Christmas week. Every vacation destination that I have looked at over the years is twice or three times as much as the normal prices. It's crazy!

The Gaylord National Harbor is nice also. They have the Ice thing going on as well.
