Where were you....

For me it was a normal day. But I was only 28 weeks. I did not know it then but I had been in labor all day. I did a 10 hour day at work, went out for dinner with a cousin and drove home massapequa to ronkonkoma. By the time I got home, I started to feel something was wrong. I got to the hospital at 1030, he was born at 1110, or something like that. When I got to the hospital, he was crowning, my water had broken and I was fully dilated.

Ha! I was in the grocery store but I only had a container of mac and cheese that I was buying for lunch. I did struggle with putting it back and leaving or paying for it. Ultimately I bought it, went home to eat it and I still had time to take a shower, blow my hair our and watch tv for a few hours before I had to go to the hospital! With my second and third I was in bed.

Re: Where were you....

With my first, I was induced 2 weeks early for medical reasons.

With #2, my water broke as I was getting ready for work. It was a slow leak so I wasn’t sure whether it was actually my water that broke. There was no doubt that it broke a few hours later when I was at the doctor’s office and about to be examined. I was 38w5d.

With #3, I was at home in the bathroom bending down to pick something up and my water broke. It happened about an hour before we were going to go out to dinner one last time so I’m glad my water didn’t break at the restaurant. I was 38w6d.

I had no signs of labor before my water broke either time, but I don’t think that’s very common.

At home. As soon as I stood up to get out of bed my water broke.

First time, water broke leaving my 39 week appointment, so I walked back inside and they had an ambulance come over. My husband was at work in the city so it took him a while to get to the hospital, but the baby was born the next day around 4am.

Second time, we were at home at night. Contractions came on much quicker so we went to the hospital right away and baby was born about 6 hours later at 1am.

Re: Where were you....

I was at work and started having contractions. I had an OB appointment that day anyway and when I went in for it they sent me to the hospital since my contractions were very close together. I was released the next day but scheduled for an induction 2 days later (I was showing signs of pre-e). The very next day at home my contractions started again and were pretty close together. My OB told me to just go to the hospital to be admitted and they induced me right away. I was 1 day shy of 37 weeks.
