Which bank for DC's savings acct?
We'd like to open an acct before his baptism but all interest rates stink. Please recommend your bank for DC.

The best rate i have found so far is an online savings account at HSBC. I think its about 3.5%. There arent even CD's that are better than that these days....
The only catch is its only online....
I was told to spread funds out these days. Put some in a savings, some in a 529 etc....dont put all the eggs in one basket.
If you find something better let me know.

We were on the fence about this...I wanted the online acct from HSBC or ING, but DH wanted DS to have an acct at a nearby branch so as he grows he learns what savings is, actually goes to a bank to put his money in it, etc.
We're at WaMu with a crappy interest rate, as a result.
