Re: Which company has the best auto buying program-UPDATE
I ended up trying the AAA website to get a internet price on a CR-V. Baron Honda ended up calling me and would not give me a price. He said for the 2012 models they are offering only $500-$700 off the list price(what is the list price-i know what it is but he should have tried to give me more info) but bring my car in now so he can give me an estimate what I can get for my present car. I told him I would wait for some deals in regards to finance. He than told me if I wait I cannot get as much for my car now. I guess I won't be trading my car in.

Our friends swear by USAA. I looked into it for my used car but, the dealer prices were lower than what they were advertising (they used it for a new car though and were happy).

Dealers will not give you prices over the phone so I am not surprised Baron wouldn't give you much info.
I do know they say you get the best deals the week between Xmas and new years

Babylon Honda gives prices over the phone but you have to take whats in stock. Might wait for the 2013 Escapes if my lemon car makes it that long.

I would go on line to cars.com and edmunds.com and ask for multiple dealers to bid for your specific car. I find that the on line division can go much lower than the phone or in person sales division. With that said, my brother had a lot of luck going through costco's car buying program.

Sure they will. The last three cars I bought I had the deal done without even walking into the dealership.
In this day and age, all dealers have internet managers. Just email the dealers through their websites and you will get pricing if you ask. Then when yuo aren't happy with their pricing, they will usually contact you days afterwards with new (lower) pricing.
I have even negotiated my trades without them seeing the car by using the Galves numbers.
