Which FET protocol should I do?

I ovulate regularly and have a regular cycle so Dr. K said I could do the natural FET which just requires monitoring before ovulation and then the transfer after my follie collapses. He said I could do either one.
I am considering doing the medicated FET. it requires less monitoring and just the estrogen from the start of my cycle. The estrogen will help my lining. I have never had problems with my lining before but I do know that Dr. K was a little concerned about it before my transfer. If I do the estrogen I won't worry about the quality of my lining this time. I am thinking that is the route I should take. What do you all think? Can anyone who has done either or (both) protocols tell me the pluses and minuses of each? Thanks!!!

I haven't done either yet either, but know when the time comes I will do the medicated protocol.
I agree with you- especially b/c of last time when they weren't sure what was going on the few days before your retrieval. You take estrogen pills to get your lining nice and thick, so I don't think that it could hurt. Chat Icon
I have come to rely on medications to assist/do what my body should on it's own--- but doesn't always (if ever)- but I have to say that part doesn't bother me- I'm glad to have that option. If they're giving you a choice, I say go with your gut! Chat Icon

Re: Which FET protocol should I do?

I would opt for the medicated. Sound like less of a chance for something to go wrong. My 2nd cycle, my lining wasn't ready yet and I had to push back a couple of days. Wasn't a big deal with the IVF b/c I just started my meds later. If I was doing an FET, I wouldn't want to worry about that.

I did the medicated. It was so much easier and you don't have to go to the office as often. Good Luck!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I've only done the medicated. It's much easier, you only go in twice before the retrieval and then go for your beta. The only disadvantage is that you have to do the PIO shots.
