Just wanted to update. I joined BJ's a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I joined online for $33 for 15 months and think it is great. Got a lot of great stuff for xmas and xmas parties. Thanks for all the advice!

We joined BJs. But often I find Target to be cheaper on stuff. Plus, we are only 2 people and other than paper towels and tp, we don't really buy in bulk anyway...

I met some analyst on the train - one of the things he has to do is forecast BJs, Costco, Sam's club, etc.
He told me to be aware that Costo was raising their membership fees in January.

DH gets a discount for BJs memberships through work. I think it wa $25 for the year. I've never been to Costco.
I get the same thing. I paid $25 for 15 months.

I love Costco, but if I lived near a BJs, I would totally join. They send you awesome coupons and they also take manufacturers coupons. To me, that's a plus!

We belong to BJ's and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. We get a lot of meats from there. Not so much on fruits and veggies because I am the only one that really eats them so I just end up going to the supermarket for those.
BJ's is great for cleaning products. I always get my cleaning stuff from there especially laundry detergent. I have small bottles in my laundry room and I just keep refilling them. It's wonderful. We also get the dog's treats and food from BJ's.
If we need something but not a large quantity like cheese we go to the supermarket. Their are certain things BJ's does not carry like gravy master, things for the crock pot, or wondra and we just get that from the supermarket.
Overall we go to BJ's 2x a month and do a lot of shopping

I agree with Costco -- IMO, there is no comparison. I won't buy meats (especially chicken) from BJs after buying from Costco for so long.
We have a membership to both. BJs is 2 minutes from me & they have a much better baby selection. But I renewed Costco because I think their food is far better.

We prefer Costco in some ways and BJs in others. Right now we have a Costco membership and love it there. We got tired of BJs. I also think it depends on the actual store location itself.

I also like the BJ's Platinum MasterCard. Every time you use it, you earn BJ's Bucks to apply toward future purchases. It's the only club to have it.
BJ's accepts coupons. they also have their own Members-Only coupons throughout the year.

Dh and I just joined BJ's and the love it. It cost us 30 bucks for 15 months. I have been to costco with my gf and didnt really like it, and the prices in BJ's are much cheaper than costco. I live near both and am actually closer to costco but def like BJ's much better. I think its really a preference b/t the two. GL!
I dont know the method of payment at costco, since my gf payed for everything, we couldnt split it up at the register, but BJ's takes all major credit cards and personal checks.

I joined Costco around Christmas when my BJ's membership expired and I regret it. I miss my cheap BJ's gas and using my AA Visa Mileage card. Who doesn't take friggin VISA!
