Which stores do you refuse to shop in?
and why?
I refuse to shop in Crate and Barrel. I went to college with the founder's son and he was such an arrogant jerk I swore I'd never give him a dime of my money.

Walmart in Islandia. All of the announcements are ONLY in spanish. I'm fine with having spanish AND english, but come on...

Sears Hardware in Hauppauge ... you could die waiting for help from a salesperson.
Circuit City ... I don't care for their "restocking fee" if you need to return something.

Walmart for the way they treat their employees, lack of health insurance, numerous attempts to bust attempts at unionizing, etc.
Many "high end"/designer retailers... I can't see spending the prices.

Ethan Allen, for a completely crazy reason (I admit it)! They built a new store a few summers ago along Sunrise (in Holbrook maybe?), where Nicholls merges onto the service road (eastbound). Well, one FRIDAY in the summer right before they opened, at 4:30pm, they decided to pave their little turning lane, which should not have affected traffic, but it did. All lanes on the service road were CRAWLING!! I think it took me over an hour to go 1 mile on the service road to finally get on Sunrise. A Friday in the Summer, in rush hour, for their piddly right turning lane!!!!!!!! 
Hate them!

It's boring.
My dad bought tools on his Sears charge and returned them. So the charge was removed from his account and six months later it shows up with interest.  It was removed but then reappeared on the statement two months later. 
Eventually it went into collections even after 5000 phone calls to Sears disputing the charge. My father let his lawyer loose on them and the case is still pending - all for some freaking tools that he bought and returned in like 2002.
He says that the lesson learned is to just shop at Home Depot. I say stop buying tools altogether since you have a garage full of them and neighbors who trust and share with you like it's 1856.
