Which toys do you recommend for 6 month old?

I do believe my DS is bored with all the stuff animals and rattles. Any suggestions on a few things he would like at 6 months. I dont want to go crazy in the store as finances are really tight as im sure some of you understand. He loves things that makes noise and sing but i want to start him in using his motor skills. TIA

What about a little piano where DC can bang on the keys? DS also likes this Fisher Price toy:

My DD is the same age and we just went through a similar revelation. We got some Fisher Price blocks, a stacking game and a Taggies ball that is soft to hold but jingles when you roll it. She's fascinated with it.

At 6 months old these were DS FAVORITE things!!! He was just sitting up so both were PERFECT for him!

We have a little different Fisher Price version....This really grew with DS.....the legs come off so the white part sits on the floor....as he learned to stand it was GREAT too!!

ETA that we had TONS of other toys and these were usually the only things he played with! At almost 14 months they both get almost daily use still!

Wanted to add that the zoo DEFINATELY helped with motor skill.....DS learned how to turn the heads around & up & down on the animals, how to make them go on the ramp.....he also figured out how to turn it on & off by pressing all the red buttons!!

We also have that white table for DS and he loves it, when he gets tired of standing I take the front two legs off so he can sit in from of it.

Other good things:

stacking rings
blocks
a metal bowl and a wooden spoon to drum(this is DS's favorite game!)
cars (not matchbox, the big plastic ones)
