White Trash party invite wording

Need some ideas for hubbys 40th bday party invitation wording. I want everyone to wear some sort of white trash/redneck outfit. Any suggestions?

White Trash party invite wording

first thing I thought of was White Trash Birthday Bash!
I googled redneck invites.
Saw this for a christmas invite:

Can't help you with wording, but when i think of white trash and redneck.. those are 2 different things/looks

maybe pick one so you don't confuse people?

Maybe the wording would be easier if you picked a more culturally sensitive theme.

I don't get it. What's a white trash party? Is his birthday near Halloween and it's a costume party?

I know, I'm not invited, but I honestly think it sounds kind of odd.

I know this isn't what you asked, but I would have no idea how to dress and find the term offensive.

Sorry but I think that's really poor taste.

Re: White Trash party invite wording

Friends of mine throw a white trash party in the summer. They put some cheap lawn chairs all over the lawn, have a fire pit, get cheap beer, jello shots, and some other similar mixed drinks. It's fun. Guys wear trucker hats and mullets, girls make their hair big, wear bandanas, etc. It's fun! Lots of overalls too.
They serve cheese balls, chips, those cheese stuff in a can with crackers, red solo cups, and play beer pong

Maybe in the invite write something... come dressed to unimpress, spell things wrong, bring your baby daddy, or baby momma...

That's a relief.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I think sometimes people forget that a "white trash" or "redneck" themed party is just making fun of poor rural people. I grew up with these people. They're hard working decent human beings who don't deserve to be called "trash" or mocked.

Agree with everything here. But also redneck and white trash are not synonymous. They are very different things. Example when I think of Kim Kardashian, I think white trash but not redneck.

To me "white trash" does not equal poor rural people. "Trash," to me, is how someone acts. I don't equate it to economic status whatsoever. I know plenty of trash with money and plenty of classy people who live very humble lives.

I honestly would have no idea what to wear to a party like this. Maybe I'd just dress like Lindsay Lohan.

I could not agree more.

Quite frankly I think the original poster is "white trash" with this party idea. Shame on you. What are you teaching your kids?

"White Trash" is derogatory racial slur referring to poor white people.

What you're describing is more someone acting trashy which while insulting does not have a specific racial or socioeconomic connotation.

Good point about the kids.

This is just so disgustingly tacky.

If you want big hair, mullets, and flannel call it an 80s party.

Frankly I'm surprised that people on this site are ok with this at all. All of this. Just substitute a Black or Hispanic slang word instead of white trash, everybody would be up in arms. Not sure why it doesn't go both ways. Chat Icon In any case I don't "get" this type of party at all, and yes I know I'm not invited, Thank God, but if I got an invite for this I would think it is stupid and have no idea what to make of it.
