Re: Who didn't have that much fun last night?

Mine wasent horrible but it could have been better. DH and I both work on an ambulance (well Im on maternity leave). Last night he was on duty with my sister so I bought a bunch of food and went with him. They were a little busy and then got stuck working a tragic accident. They got back in time for the ball to drop but it was pretty rushed. Not our usual NYE but I got my Midnight Kiss so I guess I cant complain too much.

ETA~ Because they were busy, nobody ate the food I brought...except me!!! Can I get a piggy icon please?

We went to a party and everyone there is a teacher; they ALL work together. Everyone talked about work and DH and me were like Chat Icon

We only knew the host; she's a really close friend. Everyone seemed super sweet, but I guess we felt left out. People did ask what we did for a living, but I guess it's bound to happen (work talk) when an entire group works together.

I am a teacher and I know how you feel. When I go to a party I DON"T want to talk about work!!! My DH is a teacher too and we always remind our friends when they come to our house "NO CHALK TALK!!!" Unless of course it's some good gossip about someone. (I know I am SO bad!!)

Edit for spelling

I think any time a group of colleagues get together, work is the focus of conversation. I have felt it many times when I am the odd one out career wise.

Sorry you didn't have fun, LanaChat Icon

We had my parents come over for dinner (we made filet mignon, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagusChat Icon ). Dad and DH put together the crib.

Sadly, though, we were all tired and by 12:30 my parents were on their way home.

we had a good time but it wasnt a wild and crazy night. we went out to dinner with SIL and her boyfriend and then went back to their house to hang out and watch the ball drop. poor DH fell asleep on their couch at 11pm cause he worked at 5am yesterday and had to do it again today! i had to wake him up to give him a kiss when the ball dropped! That would annoy me. I have many friends who are teachers and I do notice that when they get together all they do is talk about work, it is so lame.

I guess it happens with many professions, but I do notice it alot with teachers (sorry teachers).

We had two friends over, just ate appetizers and watched tv. It wasn't exicting but I had a nice time.

Lana,

ALL of my friends are teachers and I feel so left out when there's ever a party. I know how you feel.

All they ever do is talk about work, and other teachers. Chat Icon Chat Icon
