Who does weights at the gym?
I do weights already but am thinking of changing things up a bit and doing more weights and/or higher intensity - just something to help shock my muscles. I just feel like I have plateaued and my normal routine needs some shifting or changing. I usually do weights 2-3x a week and alternate legs/back or biceps/back, etc. Or sometimes I just do a circuit of all different things.
Sooooo anyway does anyone have a good routine? My aunt does a circuit 2x a week and pretty much hits the same body parts but different machines and weights. I like this idea. Or I am just looking for something intense but I dont know what??? I wish I had the $$ for a personal trainer!!!!UGH! Anyone - ideas??
My only thoughts were to try like a P90x or that Insanity home workout but I really like going to the gym vs. working out at home. Hmmmm?

P90x does a lot of things you can do at the gym. See if you can find them at a library so you can get ideas of how the workouts are.

Could you try increasing the weights?
I try to incorporate weights and cardio. For example- jumping jacks while holding light dumbbells.
My trainer had be doing a very high intensity weight workout last week. It involved doing 1 set of 50 reps for each excercise. It was a great workout though and kept my heart rate up.

Re: Who does weights at the gym?
Does your gym have Body Pump?
I find that's a great way for me to mix up my weight workouts.
I would recommend P90x over Insanity if you are looking to build muscle - from what I've seen, Insanity is primarily a cardio/plyo workout, while p90x is more for building muscle.
The New Rules of Lifting for women is a GREAT book. I got it for Christmas and then was diagnosed with my stress fracture so I can't workout, but when I get the all clear I am going to follow it.

Jenna darling, why don't I photo copy my P90x book and send it you you? I have no idea why I didn't think of this earlier!!! It has the workouts explained and you could put your own routine together! Just let me know.
