Who has made cake pops?

I plan on making them for my DS 1st b-day & would like to know what supplies I need & can I get them all at Michael's?

I live in queens on the nassau border.

If I make them 2 days before the party, will they still be fresh?

Do you have any tips to share from your cake pop baking experiances?

Besides the cake mix and frosting, you should be able to get everything at Michaels. You want the melting chocolate and they also have a white drizzling icing which made them look really cute.

They will definitely be fresh for more than two days. Good luck!

do you let them cool in a styrofoam block?

has anyone made them as favors & what did you use to package or store them in? celaphane wrap?

Michaels now has kits for cake pops. I saw a whole display at the one near the Source mall.

the only suggestion i would give is to use LESS than a whole container of frosting. the whole container made them too wet and not "cake-y" enough for me.

i would use 3/4 of the frosting container and then taste for texture, and add a little more if you feel it needs it.
