Hey I cringe when she says that stuff too bc I can't relate to it. Just like I hate the term "Main Street" But I do think that there are a lot of people out there that relate to those terms.
Someone mentioned last night that BOTH of their ratings went up when they said the words "middle class." I guess the average American just wants to be recognized in Washington. I am not saying if it is good or bad, just an observation.

My problem isn't with Palin reaching out to the 'average american' - although I think the whole soccer Mom and joe sixkpack thing is condecendign and ridiculous - my problem is w/ Palin portraying herself as 'average' ........telling us how she's just a reglular Hockey Mom taking care of her family ........ (well, that and the fact that I don't agree with her policies)
I wouldn't want the 'average' soccer Mom doing bypass surgery on my father
I wouldn't want the 'average' defense attorney when my life was at stake -
I wouldn't want the 'average' portfolio manager handling my money ..........
WHY the hell would I want someone average to run my country ?????????? And she IS average. She could very well be an extremely intelligent woman but, hey, so am I, and that doesn't qualify me to run a COUNTRY !!! 
She doesn't have a graduate degree, she doesn't have any military experience, she doesn't have any foreign policy expereince, she's not polished or poised, she can't speak well 'off the cuff' she's easily rattled and does not hide it well, and frankly she can be obnoxious - ........
Now, a STUPID person could not run a state, and I do not think she is a stupid woman - but really? She runs a state with a population of ..........Nassau County? And she may do a good job of it, but that does NOT qualify you to be the Vice President of a COUNTRY -
Stop telling me how 'normal' you are -
Stop speaking to the country as if you're speaking to your 17 year old kid -
If the debate last night was any indication of how she will adress the world's leaders I will be SERIOUSLY  to have her representing my country !!

I'll admit to the blonde in me coming out last night. When she said "Joe Sixpack"...I said to my DH and brother "Since when does the average Joe work out and have cut abs?" They had to explain to me that she meant beer. LOL Duh!

Sarah Palin is "folksy". i'm sick to death of "folksy". we just went through 7 years of being led by a president who presented himself as being "folksy" and look where we are. he presented himself as someone you would like to sit down and have a beer with and people fell for it. we ALL should have learned a lesson from that GIGANTIC mistake.
we dont need someone in a leadership position trying to broker peace between warring factions who comes across as "daisy may". we need a strong, confident, knowledgeable professional who can rise to any occasion and represent this country as it should be. if the vice president's role was to cut ribbons as supermarket openings, judge pie eating contests and be a caller at a square dance, she's our gal. she may have held her own last night but she is WAY out of her league.

Did anyone else feel like she wasted our time in the first part of the debate ---- she kept going back to the whole energy issue...instead of answering the questions that were being asked of her....
I felt like she kept repeating herself.
And I just wanted to go to bed because I am kinda not feeling so good....
I was so p!ssed off at her, it was like get to the point already!!!!!!!
I feel like if she was chosen to represent our country that other countries would be laughing at us even more then they do now!!!!

We all know that she doesn't speak well on the fly....so it was like....rather then look silly again not being able to answer the questions properly, she just overprepared for ONE TOPIC and kept going back to that, instead of answering the questions asked.
Listen Palin, either way you handle it, you still end up looking silly.
I just don't think she's ready for this. I would love to have a woman president, but not this woman.
