HOORAY!!! I heard they couldn't get a contract to build there because the other supermarkets in the area were fighting it (Wild by Nature is nearby). I am so thrilled that DH and I aren't going to have to trek out to Jericho now!

I know but there was never an "official" announcement on the whole foods website! Now there is!!

That is wonderful! I love whole foods I used to shop there all the time when I lived in Virgina, then when I moved back to LI they were too far away (I live out east) Lake Grove is totally doable

I was there the other day and they were walkign around asking customers where they would liek to see another one.
They said plans are in the making for Queens and the south shore!!

I would LOVE this! The closest alternative grocery store to me is Trader joes in either Merrick or Commack- both are half hour away from me.

I've only been in a whole foods in california... It was ok. frankly, I still prefer fairway.
It's good to know there will be a local shop for emergency runs, though! (I live in port jeff, and go to fairway in plainview every week with my mom who lives over there....)
