Whole Foods Lake Grove development
THE SIGN IS UP!
We saw it this weekend when we drove by. They are adding yet another store onto the end of the same row of stores too, I don't think it will be an extension of Whole Foods.
Their website still says coming Spring 2010. Just a few more months!

It really annoys me that all of their stores are on the North Shore of LI. We Southies like natural foods too!

Jericho and Manhassett.
There's a Trader Joes in Lake Grove too but it's not the same, I hear. Much more fresh food options at Whole Foods.
Can't wait to try it!

Good point. I know there is one in Merrick, I didn't know there wasn't one out east on the south shore.

no, TJ's is def not the same as Whole Foods. We're incredibly lucky here...TJ's literally within walking distance of our neighborhood and a Whole Foods abt 10 minutes away by car. Several of both stores all over the DC-metro area plus other local organic grocery stores and co-ops.
Whole Foods is more like an indoor farmers market plus some parts of a really nice regular supermarket with a mix of conventional and organic foods, whereas TJ's has some organic but it's all pre-packaged.

The Lake Grove Trader Joe's is as far east as they go.

They moved into the DSW shopping center across from the mall on Middle Country Rd.

There is a store in Oceanside I think with natural/organic foods. Forget the name!

Oceanside is even farther than Merrick. I love Trader Joes but never go because it is just too far.
