whose child is going to Nursery/Pre-K in the Fall?

question: do you have to provide the supplies, like crayons, markers, etc or are they provided? I am assuming I will get a list of what I need to buy.

Re: whose child is going to Nursery/Pre-K in the Fall?

DS is going to Pre-k this fall. Last year he went to nursery but it was only 3x a week for 4 hours now Pre-K is everyday for 4 hours. I feel sad knowing he is growing up but happy because he actually tells me he misses school & his friends. We are very lucky we have FIL who will be dropping him off & picking him up but I think he would love to ride the bus because he always see's the other kids on it.

ETA: 1st day is September 9th.

DS is going to nursery school this fall. I haven't gotten any paperwork yet as to when he starts or what supplies he might need. He'll only be going 2 days/week for 2.5 hours/day. If he adjusts well, I'll move him to 3 days/week in January.

DS is starting Pre-K in september. He'll be 4. I got the medical paperwork but nothing about supplies. He's going 5 days a week, 8-4pm and the bus is picking him up. that's his favorite part. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: whose child is going to Nursery/Pre-K in the Fall?

My dds are 3 and will be going to nursery 5 days a week, not my first choice but what fits best with our schedule, I sent them to camp this summer 2x a week for 4 hours to get them ready they have only been with me or grandparents prior to this
I am very nervous and if they need supplies I wish they would tell us know so we cantake advantage of sales
I believe they go sept 5&6 for 1 hour each day and then the 9th for a half day and then full day the 10th to ease them onto it, also this is a catholic school
No bus even if it were offered for me they are too young

She will be going to a nursery/day care combo place 2 mornings a week (9am-12pm). She is 2 so she will be with kids aged 18months-3 years old. No clue what I have to send yet, I have orientation tonight. She is so excited and keeps saying "My going to school in September" even though she has no clue when Septemeber is. Chat Icon
She starts the day after Labor Day. No bus for us but I think they do have one for those that need it.

DS is 33 months, and will start nursery school in September.
its just 2 mornings a week, for 2.5 hours each time. He starts September 9th... but parents stay the first time, and the next couple times are shortened sessions, to help them adjust to being away from the parents. I'm REALLY nervous, because I've been home with him- and he's really never been away from us. but at the same time, he's SO smart and LOVES doing new things... that I know he'll love it. He needs a little help to be better socially with other kids, so I know it'll be good for him. But it will definitely be hard to leave him Chat Icon
and, no, we didn't get a list of supplies or anything- yet. i'm waiting for a letter sometime soon with all the info.

DD is 4 yo and she'll be starting Pre-K. We haven't gotten a supply list but I did find out she's in the morning session. It's 5 days for 2 1/2 hours. She's SOO excited, she told me today that she needs two "packpacks," a Hello Kitty one and a Minnie Mouse one..LOL. No buses for us until Kindergarten.

My little guy is starting nursery school in September--a month and a half before he turns 3.

He's going Monday through Friday 8:45-11:45am. I am really anxious because my girls only went three half days, but they expanded the program and then I was peer-pressured into adding the two days. I know he'll be fine (he went last year two 2hr days), but well, he's my baby. Chat Icon

My DS is 4.5 and his first day is TOMORROW!! I'm freaking out. This is his first ever school experience. No bus, I'll be dropping him off and picking him up. It's 5days/week from 8:30-11:45. We don't have to bring in any supplies, but we did have to pay a $275 supply fee on top of the initial registration fee and then our monthly tuition.

Only supplies I had to send in was a marble notebook. Nothing else. Do you know who his teacher is yet?

Re: whose child is going to Nursery/Pre-K in the Fall?

My DS is starting in January at 27 months (you're supposed to be 2 1/2 so we're waiting till January.) It is 2 days a week, 3 hours a day, no transportation. We got a supply list, but it wasn't really school supplies, more like wipes, tissues, change of clothes etc. Parents also take turns providing snack for the class.

Preschool 3 days a week... About 3 hours a day.
We were told only to buy a book bag.
He's been in a separation class at Gymboree without problem.

He will be taking the bus at 3. With a carseat. It's part of how I picked the school. I don't want certain family or a nanny driving my kids.

Re: whose child is going to Nursery/Pre-K in the Fall?

DS is starting nursery school in September. He'll be 3 at the end of November so I am a little nervous that he will have a hard time adjusting.

He starts on September 10th 2 days a week of 2 1/2 hrs a day.

He will not be taking a bus. My dad will be bringing him.

DS is very excited to go to school and it has helped tremendously in potty training because I keep telling him at school he will need to use the potty.

This will be her first school experience and her first time away from me (other than dance class where I wait outside the room)

ETA: DD is 3.5 and starts September 10th (I think...lol)

Re: whose child is going to Nursery/Pre-K in the Fall?

DD goes to full time day care 3 days a week so it's just a program within her regular day.
Not sure when the first day is or anything like that.
It's just business as usual for us- I drop her off around 8 am and pick her up around 6 pm and somewhere in there, they will do some nursery school like stuff I assume!

Oh I hope they don't ask me for any supplies- I pay more than enough for her to go there!
